Gain unmatched real-word experience in the fields of mental health, experiential programming, and nature-based programming!

At Northwest Passage, we focus on mental health and wellness through the adoption of our PassageWay Elements: Nature, Recreation, Relaxation, Nutrition, Exercise, Relationships, Service, and Spirit. These elements are central to our approach, combining traditional mental health treatment with arts, education, nature-based therapy, and experiential opportunities. Since 1978, we’ve been dedicated to providing high-quality care in a community dedicated in hope, recovery, and wellness. Our facilities in Northwest Wisconsin offer a peaceful environment for our clients and staff, with easy access to activities and resources near Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth, and Eau Claire.

Northwest Passage proudly serves individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, and we are committed to providing an environment where all feel welcomed and supported. Northwest Passage looks to build our team with candidates who are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to all of our clients, demonstrating resilience, determination, collaboration, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. At Northwest Passage, you will foster hope through your involvement in the healing process. Guided by the PassageWay Elements, we strive to create a positive environment for growth and wellness for both our clients and staff.

The Case Manager is the central force of both the internal and external treatment team. The Case Manager obtains, provides, and utilizes all clinical information about the client to develop the treatment plan, present the client’s status, and communicate about the treatment process. The Case Manager is the primary liaison between all parties involved with the client’s case. Following discharge, CMs will engage clients to provide recommendations for continuing or additional services and identification of service providers. Within the relationship, CMs will facilitate continued investment in local treatments with the ultimate goal being that the client maintains treatment on his/her own. Additionally, the CM will provide updates to Northwest Passage on former clients’ progress as deemed necessary.

As a Case Manager Intern, you will work in a team environment that provides opportunity to learn from others and build a solid understanding of treatment strategies.

Responsibilities (along with mentorship of supervising Case Manager):

  • Regularly communicate with client’s support network.
  • Communicate with future treatment teams regarding additional clinical and educational needs of the client as determined by Northwest Passage.
  • Maintain an understanding of mental health concepts, psychotropic medications, and client symptomology which allows for identification of client needs, development and implementation of the treatment plan, and provision of quality mental health services.
